Privacy policy

Introduction

The MoCap Pro Glove product and brand is owned by Sensor Holdings Limited (trading as StretchSense).

Sensor Holdings Limited (we, us, our) complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 1993 (the Act) when dealing with personal information.  Personal information is information about an identifiable individual (a natural person).

This policy sets out how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information.  This policy does not limit or exclude any of your rights under the Act.  If you wish to seek further information on the Act, see www.privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

We may change this policy by uploading a revised policy onto our websites at https://stretchjp.wpenginepowered.com/ or https://mocapproglove.com (Website, Websites).  The change will apply from the date that we upload the revised policy.

Collecting your personal information

We collect personal information about you from you, when you provide that personal information to us, including via the Website (e.g. if you subscribe to our mailing list) and through any other contact with us (e.g. telephone call or email).  

We do not generally collect information about you from third parties, except as set out in this privacy policy.  If possible, we will collect personal information from you directly.

We also collect information about our Website traffic as described further in the section below, titled Cookies.

Use of your personal information

We may use your personal information:

  • to market our services and products to you, including contacting you electronically (e.g. by text or email for this purpose)
  • to improve the services and products that we provide to you
  • to improve your Website user experience, including to personalize it to your preferences
  • to respond to communications from you, including a complaint
  • to conduct research and statistical analysis (on an anonymized basis)
  • to protect and/or enforce our legal rights and interests, including defending any claim
  • for any other purpose authorized by you or the Act

Disclosing your personal information

We do not generally disclose your personal information to third parties, except that we may disclose your personal information to:  

service providers and other persons working with us to make the Website available or improve or develop its functionality (e.g. we may use a third-party supplier to host the Website or provide data storage services)

  • a third party in relation to the proposed purchase or acquisition of our business or assets
  • a person who can require us to supply your personal information (e.g. a regulatory authority)
  • any other person authorized by the Act or another law (e.g. a law enforcement agency)
  • any other person authorized by you
  • a business that supports our services and products may be located outside New Zealand.  This may mean your personal information is held and processed outside New Zealand

Protecting your personal information

We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information safe from loss, unauthorized activity, or other misuses.

If you make a credit card purchase through the Website the payment will be processed by a third-party payment solutions provider approved by us.  We will not store or have access to your credit card details.

Accessing and correcting your personal information

Subject to certain grounds for refusal set out in the Act, you have the right to access your readily retrievable personal information that we hold and to request a correction to your personal information.  Before you exercise this right, we may ask for evidence to confirm that you are the individual to whom the personal information relates.

We will make any correction you have requested if the correction is reasonable and we are reasonably able to do so.  If we do not make the correction, we will take reasonable steps to note on the personal information that you requested the correction.

We may charge you our reasonable costs of providing to you copies of your personal information or correcting that information.

Internet use

While we take reasonable steps to maintain secure internet connections, if you provide us with personal information over the internet, the provision of that information is at your own risk.

If you post your personal information on the Website’s chat room, within a comment on our blog post, or on any other publicly viewable page, you acknowledge and agree that the information you post is publicly available.

If you follow a link on our Website to another site, the owner of that site will have its own privacy policy relating to your personal information.  We suggest you review that site’s privacy policy before you provide personal information.

Cookies and third-party tools

We collect technical information about users when they log on to, or visit the public version of, our Website.  This includes information about the way users arrive at, browse through and interact with our Website.  We may collect this type of technical information through the use of cookies, web beacons and other means.  Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive to enable our systems to recognize your browser.  Web beacons are objects embedded in web pages or emails that help us to identify if you have accessed certain content.

Unless you create a user account or provide us with an email address, the information we collect about your Website use will be collected only as aggregated (i.e. anonymous) information about our Website traffic.

If you have provided us with your email address, we track more detailed technical information, including information about the pages of our Website that you visit, when, and how long you stay.

We use the technical information we collect to have a better understanding of the way people use our Website, to improve the way the Website works and to personalize it to be more relevant and useful to your particular needs.  We may also use this information to assist in making any advertising we display on the Website or any marketing we send to you more personalized and applicable to your interests.

If you want to disable cookies and web beacons, you may do so by changing the settings on your browser.  However, if you do so, you may not be able to use all of the functions on the Website.

Electronic marketing

Where you have opted via the Website to receive our regular updates, provided us with your contact details, or otherwise consented to receiving marketing information, we will use your contact information to let you know about our products and services and related information, which we think you may be interested in.  We may contact you electronically (e.g. by email or by text) for this purpose.  

We use third-party service providers to send marketing information via email.  If you do not wish to receive electronic marketing messages, you can follow the unsubscribe link contained in the message, or notify us using our contact form

Social media

If you send us emails that are linked to your social media account, we will be able to access and see the information you have chosen to make available on your public profile pages.  You must ensure that you have any necessary permissions to share that information.  You can control our access to that information by managing your privacy settings in your social media account.
